DIY Web Space is a website design and development service. Based in Ja-Ela, Sri Lanka. "We", "us" and "our" mean DIY Web Space. We are not yet a registered business. We will add our registration details to this page once registration is complete.

Information We CollectWhat we collect when you contact us or use this website.
We collect the information you choose to give us, and the basic technical details that every browser shares with a website.
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the package and add-ons you choose, and your message.
- WhatsApp and email: your messages, and the name and number linked to your WhatsApp account.
- Project information: text, images, logos, business details and any access details you share during a project. Please do not send passwords or card numbers in chat messages. We will agree a secure way to share account access when we need it.
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How We Use Your InformationHow we use the information you give us.
We use personal information only for these purposes:
- to reply to your inquiry and prepare a quotation
- to plan, build, secure, launch and maintain the work you order
- to issue invoices, receipts and payment reminders
- to keep the records that Sri Lankan accounting and tax rules require
- to keep this website working, and to prevent spam and misuse
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Contact Form ProcessingHow your contact form is handled.
When you send the contact form, Web3Forms, a form-handling service, passes your details to our email inbox.
The form collects the information described under Information We Collect. It also includes the pricing market you selected. Please do not send passwords, full card numbers or national identity card numbers through the form.

Client ReviewsHow we handle reviews you send us.
If you send us a review through the "Leave a Review" form, we collect:
- your name, which is shown publicly with your review if we approve it;
- your email address, which is private. We use it only to contact you about your review and it is never shown on this website;
- the project or service name, your rating and the review text;
- your consent choice, with the date and time you gave it.
We also keep a keyed, one-way code made from your internet address. It is not shown publicly and we use it only to limit spam and repeated submissions.
Your review is not published when you send it. We publish it only after we have read and approved it, and only if you agreed to publication. A review is marked "Verified client" only after we have confirmed that you were our client.
The review form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, a security service that helps block automated submissions.
You can ask us at any time to remove your review or to withdraw your consent, using the details under Contact Us. We will remove the review from this website after we confirm your request.
Sharing InformationWho receives your information, and why.
We share information only where it is needed to run our services:
- Form delivery: Web3Forms, which forwards contact form submissions to our email inbox.
- Website hosting: Hostinger, which hosts this website.
- Domains and email: the domain registrars and business email providers we use for your project. Their own terms apply to their services.
- WhatsApp and email: messages you send us are handled by WhatsApp and your email provider under their own privacy policies.
- Payments: banks or payment gateways, for payments you agree to make.
- Authorities: where the law requires us to share information.
Service providers receive only the information they need, and we ask them to protect it.
Data SecurityHow we protect your information, and its limits.
We use HTTPS on this website, limit access to our email and WhatsApp accounts to the people who need it, and test forms and access before a site launches.
No website or system is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive details such as passwords, full card numbers or national identity card numbers through the contact form.
Data RetentionHow long we keep your information.
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.

Privacy RequestsHow to ask to see, correct or delete your information.
Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, is being brought into force in stages. Where its provisions apply to us, you may ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or delete information where appropriate. You may also raise other rights the Act provides once they apply to us. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it.
To make a request, email hello.diywebspace@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. You may also raise a concern with the relevant authority under Sri Lankan law. We will update this section as the Act's provisions take effect.

Information stored on your device
The website code does not add advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Your browser saves a few settings on your own device so the site works the way you chose. These are your theme (light or dark), your language, your selected pricing market, your approximate location result, and the time of your last contact form submission, which stops the form from being sent repeatedly. These settings stay on your device, except for the pricing market, which is included when you send a contact form.
Pricing market and approximate location
We use approximate location information to suggest relevant prices. You can change your pricing selection at any time. Your selected preference is remembered on your device.
Approximate location is determined from the visitor's IP address and the hosting services that run this website. The location result is only a starting display and is not proof of where you live or which price list you may use. Your own choice always takes priority. We do not use GPS, and we do not ask for your device's location.
Fonts and third-party links
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser loads them, Google may receive your IP address and basic browser information under its own privacy policy. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and performance.
This website links to our Facebook and Instagram pages. The privacy policies of those platforms apply to what you do on them.
Policy UpdatesHow we update this policy and tell you about changes.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. We will publish material changes on this website.
